To prevent the onset of disease, entry visas for people from countries affected by ebola were suspended.
The government will cancel and deny temporary visas of people who are not traveling yet, and new visa applications will not be processed. Holders of permanent visas who have not yet come to Australia must undergo a quarantine of 21 days before departure.
Checks at airports have identified more than 800 people who entered Australia from West Africa and who may have been in areas affected by Ebola, but none required hospital visits upon his arrival.
Australia has donated 18 million Australian dollars (US $ 16 million) to combat the disease, but it will not ship until staff is satisfied that any Australian who became infected receives appropriate treatment.
