Turtle green

The species is distributed throughout the tropical and subtropical seas around the world, with two distinct populations in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. They are green because they have fat under its shell.

The appearance of a green turtle is typical of a sea turtle. Chelonia mydas has a flattened dorsoventral body, a head, short neck, paddle-shaped fins adapted for nado.2 Adult green turtles can grow up to 1.66 m longitud.3 Although turtles have been caught weighing up to 315 kg, the average weight of an adult green turtle Rocks 200 kg. The copy of Chelonia mydas heavier than there has been weighed 395 kg.

It is one of the most studied species of sea turtle, and much of what is known about sea turtles generally comes from studies of the green turtle. The ecology of Chelonia mydas changes drastically through every stage of your life. For example, the newborn turtles are carnivorous organisms, pelagic nekton of the mini-open ocean. In contrast, immature and adult young turtles are often found in seagrass beds near the coast, as herbivores.
